Chandrashila Peak Summit Trek
Chandrashila that literally means the ‘MoonRock’ is the summit of the chandranath parvat on which the Tungnath temole of panch kedar is situated. The majestic chandrashila summit serves as a vantage point that offers a heavenly pamorma of the Great Himalaya. Chandrashila is one of the popular treks of uttrakhand that can be undertaken throughout the year. The trek to the peak is 5 km.that start from Chopta.
Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath
During the winter the idols from kedarnath temple and madhya maheswar are brought to ukhimath and worshipped here fir six months. Accordind to hindu mythology wedding of Usha (daughter of vanasur) and Anirudh(grandson of lord Krishna) was solemnized here.
Kalishila Trek
It is amongst the 52 shakti peeth of sati goddess. The trek from Kalimath to Kalishila is one of the most favoured treks among adventure seekers in Uttarakhand. The last leg of the trek is a steep, uphill climb which is tiring but thrilling for most trekkers Kalishila name originated as ‘kali’ is a form of having high energy. The word ‘shila’ means stone.once you reach the top it is mesmerizing watching yourself surrounded by the green dense forests and hills all around.
Chopta
Chopta is a small settlement and valley that is located in Uttarakhand, which is very popular among tourists, mainly because of the number of options it provides for exploring, adventure buffs and trekking enthusiasts. The entire region is a haven of beauty, specially for the ones who are looking for a good place to relax, without the hustle and bustle of a typical tourist hotspot. One can visit Chopta valley and gaze in awe at the many peaks located a short distance away from the valley.Chopta is also a base for trekking to Tungnath, third temple of Panch Kedar, which lies 3.5 kilometres uphill.
Kalimath - Shaktipeeth
Kalimath is a village which is regarded as a divine place and Shakti peeth. It lies at an altitude of around 6,000 feet (1,800 m) on the river Saraswati in the Himalayas.Kalimath is situated close to Guptakashi . The upper part of Goddess Kali is worshipped in Dhari Devi and the remaining part in Kalimath Religious believe that after killing devil Raktavija Maa kali had gone under the earth. Kalimath is only the place where the goddess Kali is worshipped along with her sisters Laxmi and Saraswati. An eternal holy flame always burns in the temple of Laxmi. Bhairava Mandir is also located very near. The village is the birthplace of Kalidas, a Sanskrit poet. The month of May to October is the best time for traveling in Kali Math. Because this times the Kedarnath yatra is also operated. Therefore, passengers can also visit Kalimath along with Kedarnath Yatra. Maa Kali Darshan is considered auspicious during Navratri.
Naagtal Lake
There are many beautiful places in the Himalayas full of natural beauty, which have not been able to make a place on the tourism map. Nagatal is one of these beautiful places. Where nature has scattered a lot of beauty. From here the range of Himalayas and lush green Bugyal plains adds to the unending beauty of nature. Jamtu can be reached by trekking two km from Phata on Kedarnath National Highway and trekking two km from here to Nagtal. After climbing about one km, a straight-flat path reaches Nagtal. The unique beauty of nature is seen upon reaching here. This artistic creation ability of nature fascinates the mind. Oaks on foot, It is thrilling to see the beautiful forest covered with hundreds of species of trees and herbs including the Burans. Here, there is a feeling of joy when you see many rare animals moving freely. The mind gets thrilled after seeing the panoramic view of Chakhamba, Meru-Sumeru peak shining like silver in the light of sun rising in the morning.
Madhyamaheshwar Temple
Madhyamaheshwar (Sanskrit: मध्यमहेश्वर) or Madmaheshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Shiva, located in the Mansoona village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. Situated at an elevation of 3,497 m (11,473.1 ft), Ukhimath is winter seat of Madmaheswar, It is the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit, comprising five Shiva temples in the Garhwal region. The other temples in the circuit include: Kedarnath, Tungnath and Rudranath to be visited before Madmaheshwar and Kalpeshwar to be visited after Madmaheshwar. The middle (madhya) or belly part or navel (nabhi) of the bull, considered a divine form of Shiva, is worshipped at this temple, believed to be built by the Pandavas, the heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
Tungnath
Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. It is located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old and is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic.
